The main Ranking Raccoon alternatives are RankChase (niche and DR matching, $19 a month per site), KarmaLinks (points-based three-way exchanges for B2B sites, free or $19), LinkExchange.ai (a WordPress credit marketplace), RankYak (an exchange inside a $99 content plan), Backlinkster (1-for-1 swaps with a free plan) and paid marketplaces such as Collaborator.pro. Pick by model first, then price.
Your 7-day trial ran out and the account dropped to the free Lite plan: your sites are still listed, but you can no longer browse other members or start a chat. Or you paid, sent twenty link requests, and spent the week refreshing your inbox. Either way the question is whether $25 a month is the right price for the way you build links, or whether another model suits you better.
We make Backlinkster, one of the options below. Every competitor fact on this page was checked on that company's own website on 18 October 2026. Prices change, so confirm on their pricing pages before you pay.
What Ranking Raccoon does, so you know what you are replacing
Ranking Raccoon is a hand-moderated community where site owners find each other and agree link swaps in private chat. According to its how it works page, you verify your email and LinkedIn profile, enter your Ahrefs DR and traffic, and a moderator reviews the site and the person behind it within one business day. Sites must be in English. No minimum DR or traffic figure is published.
Once approved, you browse members by industry, sort by DR, and send a link request. Its pricing page lists three tiers:
- Free trial: 7 days of full Pro access, no credit card.
- Lite: free forever after the trial. Your sites stay visible and Pro members can contact you, but you can't browse or start chats.
- Pro: $25 a month, cancel any time, payments non-refundable.
Ranking Raccoon says that "35% of requests result in links built" and that it checks a confirmed link is live and do-follow. Those are its own figures, not independent ones. Its homepage also mentions a "Find ABC opportunities" feature for people with several sites.

The alternatives in detail
Each option below replaces a different part of Ranking Raccoon, so read the one that matches why you are leaving.
RankChase: if you want matches sent to you
RankChase matches sites by niche and Domain Rating and emails you the matches, so you don't browse at all. Its pricing page shows a free plan that lists your site and lets you receive exchange messages, but you can't see the details of matched sites. Premium costs $19 a month per website with a 7-day trial and adds full match details, ABC exchanges and DR and traffic filters. The agency plan is priced on request. For a deeper look, see our RankChase alternatives comparison.
KarmaLinks: if you run a B2B site and want three-way only
KarmaLinks is a private exchange for verified B2B company sites that works on points rather than direct swaps. Its homepage says you earn Karma Points by giving links and spend them to request links, with a DR 15 minimum and do-follow links only. Every exchange is three-way (A links to B, B to C, C to A); direct A-to-B swaps aren't allowed. The free plan allows 2 open requests and starts you with points equal to your DR; Pro is $19 a month for about 200 points and 5 open requests. It also alerts you when a link goes missing. If you are new to the pattern, how three-way link exchanges work explains the trade-offs.
LinkExchange.ai: if you run WordPress and don't want to negotiate
LinkExchange.ai replaces the chat with a credit system inside a WordPress plugin. Its pricing page lists a free plugin with 500 one-time starter credits and one campaign of up to 5 target URLs, and Pro at $174 for the first year (half the regular $348). You earn credits by approving placements on your own posts, and nothing goes live without your approval. The page doesn't say what buying extra credits costs per link, and the plugin is no help on Webflow, Shopify or a custom build.
RankYak: if you also want the content written
RankYak bundles a backlink exchange into an AI SEO plan that also researches keywords and writes and publishes articles. Its homepage says it "exchanges backlinks between your site and relevant sites in the network, on full autopilot." The Pro plan shows $99 a month, each extra site is another $99, and the trial is 3 days. It suits someone who wants content and links from one tool; it is expensive if you only want links.
Backlinkster: if you want direct swaps on a free plan
Backlinkster matches site owners for one-for-one links placed inside articles, and each swap is verified by API. Whoever starts a swap publishes the partner's article link first, and the request goes out only after that, so nobody is left waiting on a promise. The link you submit must be an article URL on your own domain, and one published link can't be reused for two live swaps. Members who haven't logged in for more than 7 days are hidden from the match queue, which cuts down on requests that never get an answer. Five swaps a month are free; Pro is $19 and the Backlinkster plan $49 (see plans).
Collaborator.pro: if you would rather pay than trade
Collaborator.pro is not an exchange: it is a marketplace where you pay each site for a guest post or placement. Its homepage shows a catalogue it puts at more than 40,000 websites, with per-placement prices set by each publisher (examples on the page range from $40 to $91), a one-time commission whose rate isn't published, and a "FREE 3-month guarantee" against deletion or de-indexing. Paying for links that pass PageRank sits outside Google's spam policies, so read link exchange vs buying backlinks before you choose this route.
How to choose between them
Start from the reason you are leaving Ranking Raccoon; each reason points to a different tool.
If the monthly price is the problem
KarmaLinks, LinkExchange.ai and Backlinkster all have a free tier that lets you actually build links, not just stay listed. RankChase's free plan hides who your matches are, so in practice it works as a trial.
If unanswered requests are the problem
Look at how each tool handles people who go quiet. Ranking Raccoon suspends accounts that keep ignoring requests; Backlinkster hides members inactive for more than a week; RankChase and KarmaLinks don't describe a rule. Whatever you pick, vet each swap partner before you place their link.
If your site isn't in English
Ranking Raccoon accepts English sites only. None of the other exchange tools above publishes a language rule on the pages we checked, so ask before you pay.
When Backlinkster is not the right fit
Backlinkster only does direct one-for-one swaps, so if you specifically want three-way links to avoid the reciprocal pattern, KarmaLinks or Ranking Raccoon's ABC feature fits better. It is also the wrong tool if your site has no articles yet (the link you offer must be a real article page), or if you need dozens of links in a month: link exchange is slow by design, and how many link exchanges are safe explains why that is a feature.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a free alternative to Ranking Raccoon?
Yes. KarmaLinks has a free plan with 2 open requests, LinkExchange.ai's plugin is free with 500 starter credits, and Backlinkster includes 5 swaps a month for free. Ranking Raccoon's own Lite plan is free too, but it only keeps your sites listed; you can't browse or start chats on it.
How much does Ranking Raccoon cost?
Ranking Raccoon Pro costs $25 a month after a 7-day free trial that needs no credit card, according to its pricing page on 18 October 2026. Payments are non-refundable, and cancelling drops you to the free Lite plan at the end of the billing cycle.
Does Ranking Raccoon support three-way links?
Its homepage describes a "Find ABC opportunities" feature for members who manage several sites. If three-way exchanges are the main thing you want, KarmaLinks is built entirely around them and doesn't allow direct swaps.
Are link exchange communities safe?
They are as safe as the links you agree to. Google's spam policies name "excessive link exchanges" as a link scheme, so a handful of relevant, editorially placed swaps is very different from trading links with anyone who asks. See are backlink exchanges safe for where the line sits.
Is Collaborator.pro a link exchange?
No. Collaborator.pro is a paid marketplace: you pay each publisher for a placement, and nothing is traded. It belongs on this list only because some people leave exchange communities because they would rather pay than negotiate.
