Free domain age checker

Enter a domain to see when it was first registered and how old it is. The checker asks the public RDAP registry, the official successor to WHOIS, and also shows the expiry date and registrar. Use it to size up a site before you trade links with it.

Frequently asked questions

Does domain age affect SEO?

Google has said domain age itself isn't a ranking factor. Older sites often rank well because they have had years to earn links and content, not because of the date.

What is RDAP?

RDAP is the newer, structured replacement for WHOIS, run by the domain registries themselves. It returns registration data in a standard format.

Why is the registration date missing?

Some country-code domains don't publish it, and privacy rules hide owner details for most domains. The registration date is usually still shown for .com, .net and .org.

Should I check a site's age before swapping links?

It helps. A brand new domain with no history is riskier than one that has been around a while. Look at its authority and existing links too.
