Free Open Graph checker and social share preview

Paste a page address to see how it looks when someone shares it. The checker reads the page's Open Graph and Twitter card tags, shows the title, description and image a social network will pick up, and lists any tags that are missing.

Frequently asked questions

What are Open Graph tags?

They are meta tags such as og:title, og:description and og:image that tell social networks what to show when a link is shared. Without them, each network guesses from the page.

What size should an Open Graph image be?

Facebook recommends 1200 by 630 pixels. That size also works well on LinkedIn and X. Keep important text away from the edges, because some networks crop.

I changed my tags. Why does the old preview still show?

Networks cache previews. Facebook's Sharing Debugger and LinkedIn's Post Inspector both let you ask for a fresh read of the page.

Do Open Graph tags help SEO?

Not as a ranking signal. They make shared links look better, which gets more clicks and more people seeing the page, and some of them may link to it.
